The Miramare castle has a park to which the Archduke Maximilian of Habsburg dedicated himself to with passion, searching for a harmony between Mediterranean, Balkan and Central European flora, sometimes even with exotic contributions such as that of the Aleppo pine. Just above it is the the overhang of karst ridge, and above the ridge the village of Prosek/ Prosecco, where, before the annexation to Italy, more than 90% of the inhabitants were Slovenian native speakers and where, despite everything, the Slovenian language resists.

In the center of the town is the Društvena Gostilna/Trattoria Sociale, and in the small square behind it there are five stumbling stones:
